VMware vCenter Server 5.5

This SAM application monitor template assesses the status and overall health of VMware vCenter Server.

Prerequisites

WMI access to the target server.

Credentials

Windows Administrator on the target server.

Service: VMware Certificate

Returns CPU and memory usage of VMware Certificate service. This service manages VMware certificates.

Service: VMware Directory

Returns CPU and memory usage of VMware Directory Service. This service is a multi-tenanted, multi-mastered directory service that makes an LDAP directory available.

Service: VMware Identity Management

Returns CPU and memory usage of VMware Identity Management Service.

Service: VMware Kdc

Returns CPU and memory usage of VMware Kdc Service.

Service: VMware Log Browser

Returns CPU and memory usage of VMware Log Browser service. This service enables browsing vSphere log files within the VMware Web Client.

Service: VMware Secure Token

Returns CPU and memory usage of Secure Token service. It is part of VMware Single Sign-On.

Service: VMware USB Arbitration

Service: VMware VirtualCenter Server

Returns CPU and memory usage of VMware vCenter Server. This service provides centralized management of VMware virtual machines.

Returns CPU and memory usage of VMware vSphere Web Client Service.

Service: VMware VirtualCenter Server LDAP

Returns CPU and memory usage of VMware vCenter Server LDAP service. This service provides VMware vCenter Server LDAP directory services.

TCP Port: vCenter (HTTP)

Tests the ability of a vCenter service to accept incoming sessions by using HTTP protocol. It monitors TCP port 80.

TCP Port: vCenter (HTTPS)

Tests the ability of a vCenter service to accept incoming sessions by using HTTPS protocol. It monitors TCP port 443.

TCP Port: Web Services (HTTP)

Tests the ability of a VMware Web service to accept incoming sessions by using HTTP protocol. It monitors TCP port 8080.

TCP Port: Web Services (HTTPS)

Tests the ability of a VMware Web service to accept incoming sessions by using HTTPS protocol. It monitors TCP port 8443.

TCP Port: vCenter LDAP

Tests the ability of a vCenter LDAP service to accept incoming sessions. It monitors TCP port 389.

TCP Port: vCenter SSL

Tests the ability of a vCenter SSL service to accept incoming sessions. It monitors TCP port 636.

Returns VMware vCenter Server warning and error events.
