What will trigger an outage in Pingdom?
One of our most read articles is "Why does Pingdom say my website is down when it's not?" and it does a great job of explaining how Pingdom uptime checks work and why they alert you.
This is just meant as a simple overview of what types of errors a Pingdom Uptime check will detect and mark as an outage. Generally you can say that any site or server that doesn't respond with a HTTP 200 OK or message that everything is good will throw an error in Pingdom.
This data is exactly what our probe servers will report in case they notice an error.
