Documentation forNetwork Configuration Manager
Managing network configurations is a key capability of Hybrid Cloud Observability Advanced and is also available in a standalone module, Network Configuration Manager (NCM). Hybrid Cloud Observability Advanced and NCM are built on the self-hosted SolarWinds Platform.

Enable SSL communication with NCM

NCM supports the use of Secure Sockets Layer certificates to enable secure communications with the SolarWinds Platform Web Console. Secure SSL communications are conducted over port 443.

An SSL certificate must be installed on your NCM server.

  1. Log in as an administrator to your main NCM server.
  2. Start Administrative Tools > Computer Management in the Windows Control Panel.
  3. Expand Services and Applications > Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager > Web Sites.
  4. Right-click SolarWinds NetPerfMon, and click Properties.
  5. Click the Web Site tab.
  6. Confirm that SSL port is set to 443, and click Apply.
  7. Click Advanced.
  8. If the Multiple SSL Identities for This Web Site field does not list the IP address for the SolarWinds Platform Web Console with SSL port 443, complete the following steps:
    1. Click Add, and select the IP address of the SolarWinds Platform Web Console.

As it was set initially in the Configuration Wizard, this option is usually set to (All Unassigned). If the IP address of the SolarWinds Platform Web Console was not initially set to (All Unassigned), select the actual, configured IP address of the SolarWinds Platform Web Console.

    1. Type 443 as the TCP port, and click OK.
  9. Click the Directory Security tab.
  10. Click Edit in the Secure communications section.
  11. Select Require Secure Channel (SSL), and click OK.
  12. Click Apply, and click OK to exit.
