Troubleshoot ipMonitor

Listed below are the log files you can use to troubleshoot ipMonitor.

By default, the logs directory is located at: C:\Program Files (x86)\SolarWinds\ipMonitor\logs.

Log Description
ipm.log Contains a record of monitor state changes and triggered alerts and actions. Use this log to view the activity of a specific monitor by searching for the monitor’s internal ID within the log file.
runtime.log Lists the internal activities of the ipMonitorSrv service. Equivalent to what is seen in desktop mode.
rptsrv_runtime.log Lists the internal activities of the ipMonitorRpt service.
Ipmfatal.log Lists the last action ipMonitor halted on.
Ipmlicense.log Indicates any issues with the license files.
Snmptrap.log Contains the received raw SNMP trap messages.
