Upgrade to SolarWinds Snap Agent
With introduction of the new SolarWinds Snap Agent, several changes’ve been made to package’s naming conventions. These changes are summarized below.

Upgrade process
Agent upgrade process is straightforward, and here we describe it for various platforms.
Debian
- Follow the Linux Installation instruction.
- Old
appoptics-snaptel
package will be automatically uninstalled and configuration files stored in/opt/appoptics/etc/
will remain. After upgrade, copy old plugin and task files to new destination - please refer to configuration (Linux Agent and Integrations) instructions.
RedHat/Centos

Backup your configuration files stored in
/opt/appoptics/etc/plugins.d
and/opt/appoptics/etc/tasks.d
. -
Remove existing agent:
Copy$ sudo yum erase appoptics-snaptel

Follow the Linux Installation instruction.

After upgrade, copy old configuration files to new destination - please refer to configuration (Linux Agent and Integrations) instructions.
Windows
- Backup your configuration files stored in
C:/ProgramData/AppOptics/Snap/
. - Uninstall existing Agent software from the Programs and Features Control Panel
- Follow the Windows Installation instruction.
- Copy old configuration files to new destination in
C:/ProgramData/SolarWinds/Snap/
- please refer to configuration (Windows Configuration and Integrations) instructions.
