Simple Email Service (SES)
Overview
Amazon Simple Email Service (Amazon SES) is a cloud-based email sending service designed to help digital marketers and application developers send marketing, notification, and transactional emails.
Setup
Installation
If you haven't already, first set up the AWS CloudWatch integration. No additional steps are needed for installation.
Configuration
On the AWS CloudWatch integration page, ensure that the SES service is selected for metric collection.
Metrics
Name | Description |
---|---|
Bounce (count) |
The recipient's mail server permanently rejected the email. This event corresponds to hard bounces; soft bounces are included only when Amazon SES fails to deliver the email after retrying for a period of time. |
Complaint (count) |
The recipient marked the email as spam. |
Delivery (count) |
Amazon SES successfully delivered the email to the recipient's mail server. |
Reject (count) |
Amazon SES accepted the email, determined that it contained a virus, and rejected it. Amazon SES didn't attempt to deliver the email to the recipient's mail server. |
