Elastic File System (EFS)

Overview

Amazon Elastic File System (Amazon EFS) provides simple, scalable file storage for use with Amazon EC2 instances in the AWS Cloud.

Setup

Installation

If you haven't already, first set up the AWS CloudWatch integration. No additional steps are needed for installation.

Configuration

On the AWS CloudWatch integration page, ensure that the EFS service is selected for metric collection.

Metrics

Name Description

BurstCreditBalance

(bytes)

The number of burst credits that a file system has.

ClientConnections

(count)

The number of client connections to a file system. When using a standard client, there is one connection per mounted Amazon EC2 instance.

DataReadIOBytes

(bytes)

The number of bytes for each file system read operation.

DataWriteIOBytes

(bytes)

The number of bytes for each file write operation.

MetadataIOBytes

(bytes)

The number of bytes for each metadata operation.

PercentIOLimit

(percent)

Shows how close a file system is to reaching the I/O limit of the General Purpose performance mode.

PermittedThroughput

(bytes/second)

The maximum amount of throughput a file system is allowed, given the file system size and BurstCreditBalance.

TotalIOBytes

(bytes)

The number of bytes for each file system operation, including data read, data write, and metadata operations.

region Name of the region
