Elastic Block Store (EBS)

Overview

Amazon Elastic Block Store (Amazon EBS) provides persistent block storage volumes for use with Amazon EC2 instances in the AWS Cloud.

Setup

Installation

If you haven't already, first set up the AWS CloudWatch integration. No additional steps are needed for installation.

Configuration

On the AWS CloudWatch integration page, ensure that the EBS service is selected for metric collection.

Metrics

AppOptics supports the ability to filter by tag for EBS resources. For more information, please see our instructions on filtering metrics using tags.

VolumeWriteBytes

(bytes)

Provides information on the output operations in a specified period of time.

VolumeReadOps

(count)

The total number of input operations in a specified period of time.

VolumeWriteOps

(count)

The total number of output operations in a specified period of time.

VolumeTotalReadTime

(seconds)
