WPM licensing

Licensing for many Orion Platform products is based on the amount of monitored nodes. WPM licensing is based on the number of transactions assigned to transaction locations that host a WPM Player. Also called "player locations," transaction locations can be on the main Orion server or on remote servers with connectivity to the Orion server.

Orion Platform products now support both perpetual licenses and subscription licenses. See License types in the Orion Platform documentation for details.

WPM is licensed by the total number of implemented transactions, regardless of whether the transactions are managed or unmanaged. The number of used licenses is calculated by multiplying the number of recordings by the number of locations assigned, as shown below:

  • 5 transactions at 1 location = 5 licenses
  • 5 transactions at 3 locations = 15 licenses

Recordings saved to Pingdom do not count against your WPM license but do count against your Pingdom subscription entitlements.
