Documentation forUser Device Tracker
Monitoring users, devices, and ports is a key capability of Hybrid Cloud Observability and is also available in a standalone module, User Device Tracker (UDT). Hybrid Cloud Observability and UDT are built on the self-hosted SolarWinds Platform.

Views and widgets in UDT

Views

The initial default view available from the UDT menu, The Device Tracker Summary shows rogue devices, the device watch list and summaries of node and port usage information across your environment.

When you drill down from these, the detail pages are shown for individual nodes, devices, ports and users, depending on what is clicked.

Views can be customized to suit the needs of you and your users. For example, if you want to give different groups of users different levels of access , you can create custom views that restrict what they can and cannot see.

For information on editing, adding and copying views, see Create, delete, modify, or restrict views in the SolarWinds Platform Administrator Guide.

For information on setting permissions, see Manage SolarWinds Platform Web Console user accounts in the SolarWinds Platform Administrator Guide.

Widgets

Views are comprised of widgets, and each widget contains data from one or more monitored objects such as performance, capacity, and disk count. You can add or remove widgets from views as needed.

Widgets are sometimes called resources.

The following image shows three widgets on the The Device Tracker Summary dashboard: All UDT Nodes, Rogue Devices, and Total Ports Currently Used.

For details on all the views and widgets provided by UDT, see Views and widgets in UDT online help.
