New features and improvements in UDT 3.3

UDT 3.3 offers new features and improvements compared to previous releases of UDT.

Reports migrated to web reporting

UDT now uses web-based reports, which are highly customizable and can be quickly edited within the Web Console.

New alerting format

UDT now uses the alert manager within the SolarWinds Orion Web Console, providing more powerful features and enabling alerts to be quickly created and edited without leaving the web browser.

UDT polls Cisco ASA devices

A new poller has been implemented for Cisco Adaptive Security Appliance (ASA) devices. This polls the ARP table through CLI.

To enable:

The device must be already added as an SNMP node, so add the device as usual using Network Discovery or AddNode wizard.

  1. Open Edit Properties, and check Advanced Cisco ASA Monitoring in Cisco ASA block.
  2. Fill in the form, and click TEST button for validation.
  3. Submit the form, wait for at least the polling interval, and check device ports.
  4. If the UDT setting UDT.UI.ShowAlsoIndirectConnections is switched on, the port endpoints should be visible under Port Details control on the Node Details page.

Other improvements

  • New alert: "Alert me when a new MAC vendor appears on the network" added.
  • TLS 1.2 support.
  • UDT now uses Orion Platform 2017.3. For new features and improvements in Orion Platform 2017.3, see the Orion Platform 2017.3 Release Notes.
