OneLogin Configuration Instructions

OneLogin is the smart and simple way to eliminate passwords and automate user management for SolarWinds!

If you don’t already have OneLogin, begin by navigating to the OneLogin homepage and proceed to the OneLogin free trial at http://www.onelogin.com/partners/app-partners/samanage. You will be re-directed back into your account and have selected a password. Once you’re within your OneLogin account, let's get started on setting up SWSD (Samanage).

Configuration

OneLogin Platform

  1. From the OneLogin platform, navigate to Apps, click Add Apps.
  2. Search for SolarWinds that is a SAML 2.0 connector and select it.

    • You may edit the Display Name if desired.
  3. Ensure that SAML2.0 - user provisioning is selected under Connectors.

  4. Click Save.
  5. Select the Configuration tab.
  6. Enter your account name into the corresponding field.

    • You can find your Account name by navigating to Setup > Service Portal. Look at the URL listed in the first paragraph. The first section is your account name. Example https://[ACCOUNT NAME].samanage.com.

  7. Enter your SolarWinds credentials in the API Username and API Password fields.

    • The credentials you enter need to be from an Administrator in SolarWinds.

  8. Click Enable under API Status.

  9. Click Save.

  10. Select the SSO tab.

  11. Copy down the SAML2.0 Endpoint (HTTP) URL.

  12. Click View Details under the X.509 Certificate

  13. Select the Clipboard Icon to copy the entirety of the X.509 Certificate string.

    • The URL and Certificate will be put into SolarWinds to confirm the SAML SSO connection.

SolarWinds Service Desk

  1. Hover over the icon, navigate to Account and select Single Sign-On.
  2. Mark the check box Enable Single Sign-On with SAML.
  3. For the Identity Provider URL field, place your OneLogin SAML HTTP Endpoint.

  4. For the Logout Field, we recommend you place https://[ACCOUNT NAME].onelogin.com as the standard logout address.

  5. Paste the entirety of your X.509 Certificate string in the large form.

  6. Mark the check box Create users if they do not exist in SolarWinds.
    • This will enable Just-in-time provisioning and add the user to Samanage as a Requester.

  7. Mark the check box Redirect to the saml login page when logging into Samanage by default.
    • This option will take you to the Onelogin login page by default.

  8. Click Update.

Once you have completed configuration for both OneLogin and SolarWinds, navigate to your SolarWinds https://[ACCOUNT NAME].samanage.com to confirm that you are able to login.
