Monitoring server configurations is a key capability of Hybrid Cloud Observability Advanced and is also available in a standalone module, Server Configuration Monitor (SCM). Hybrid Cloud Observability Advanced and SCM are built on the self-hosted SolarWinds Platform.

Report on Server Configuration Monitor (SCM) data

SolarWinds provides predefined reports for each SolarWinds Platform product. You can use the reports as soon as there is data to be reported on.

View a list of predefined reports by clicking Reports > All Reports in the menu bar. Use the web-based interface to customize the predefined reports or create your own reports.

SCM comes with the following out-of-the-box reports:

List of all configuration changes detected All configuration changes that were detected in the past 24 hours.

List baseline mismatches All configuration items that do not match the baseline configuration for the server, the last time a change was detected for that item, what kind of change was made, and a link to compare the item to the baseline.

Nodes with SCM profiles currently assigned All nodes that have at least one SCM profile assigned, and which profiles are assigned.

Overall compliance summary

Displays the overall compliance percentage for each policy and provides a breakdown of the numbers of passed rules, failed rules, rules that are not applicable, rules with a status of unknown, and rules that are disabled.

The percentage of overall compliance is calculated by dividing the number of policies that passed compliance by the sum of (1) the number of policies that passed compliance, (2) the number that failed compliance, and (3) the number for which the status of passing or failing is unknown.

Policy compliance summary

Displays the compliance percentage of each node individually for each policy and provides a breakdown of the numbers of passed rules, failed rules, rules that are not applicable, rules with a status of unknown, and rules that are disabled.

Policy rule status

This report displays the compliance of each policy for each node. It includes the results and lists any errors.
