Scripting custom statistics fields

This documentation is for legacy Kiwi Syslog Server versions 9.8.3 and older.

There are 16 custom statistics available for scripting. The system does not erase static values with each new message like the other script fields. You can view custom statistic values in the Statistics window under the Counters tab.

Set names and initial values for custom statistics fields for use within the script files and statistics reports.

You can see the field names you specify in the Statistics window and in the daily statistics e-mail report.

  1. In Kiwi Syslog Service Manager, choose File > Setup to open the Kiwi Syslog Server Setup dialog box.
  2. Click Scripting.
  3. Next to each Script variable, enter the Name and Initial value.

To create a decrementing count, specify an initial value and use a run script action to decrement starting at that value.

  4. Click Apply to save your changes.

The Names and Initial values apply when the program starts. To force the program to reinitialize the fields with these values, press Ctrl+F9 from the main syslog window. This is not the standard restart procedure for Kiwi Syslog Server.
