Admin Area 7.00.18

Generate MSI packages from the Admin Area

Users now have the option to generate MSI packages directly from the Admin Area, allowing for an easier experience to mass deploy Agents.

New Command Line features

In the Viewer, both the Command Prompt and PowerShell has been redesigned to look and feel just like a native command prompt. This includes new tools and abilities such as command history, tab-to-autocomplete, copy/paste, use of CTRL commands, and command shell colors.

Redesign of the Agent

In the Agent, the UI has been redesigned and now displays new information, such as the date of the last session, number of sessions, and status of remote assistance. This change is available in both the standalone Agent, as well as Agents integrated with N-Central and RMM.

Updated security permissions dialogue

In the Agent, the System Access Permissions dialogue has been reformatted to make the security and access permissions clearer. A new "Learn More" option has been added that links users to knowledge articles for more information.This change is available in both the standalone Agent, as well as Agents integrated with N-Central and RMM.

Admin Area 7.00.13

Additional authentication and permissions options

End users can now use the same multi-factor authentication (MFA) that standard Technicians have been able to use. Technicians can also set permissions for end users to allow or restrict access to features such as file transfer.

Smoother user experience

In the Console, video calling has been streamlined for better handling and efficiency that provides a smoother user experience. This enhancement has also been replicated to the End User area of the Console.

Improved German translation

In the Agent, the German translations have been further improved and perfected to enhance the user experience for German-speaking customers.

Improved DPI handling

In the Agent, high-DPI scaling has been improved to create a more responsive application, regardless of monitor size, according to users' needs.

Video chat and session quality

In the Console (1.02.41), the video chat feature has been improved to create better quality sessions and stability.

In the Applet (1.02.34), the chat feature has been improved through added enhancements.

Fixed issues

Description
In the Windows Console, passwords containing special characters did not properly display and login from the Passportal plugin. Now, the Passportal plugin correctly displays special characters and will login the user as expected.
In the Windows Agent, the chat window did not display the cursor or written text when the window was minimized by the remote user. Now, the remote user can view the cursor and written text while the chat window is minimized.
In the Windows Agent, when a Technician attempted access to a remote device, the end-user would receive a pop-up requesting to close the session. Now, the end-user is asked to allow access to the device rather than closing the session.
In the Windows Agent, the option "Send CTRL + ALT + DEL" would intermittently disappear under the Remote Desktop menu. Now, the option is always visible and can be deployed as desired.

In the Windows Viewer, VoIP audio calls could not be terminated completely. Now, video calls can be terminated successfully without closing the session.

In the Windows Viewer, when launching a session with multiple monitors, the Monitor icon would be blank and have to be clicked multiple times to appear on all monitors. Now, the Monitor icon is not blank and works as intended with multiple monitors.

Addition of German, French, and Italian language options

Users now have the option to view the Admin Area in German, French, and Italian for enhanced readability and a more inclusive international user experience.

Bulk creation of Technicians

Users can now perform mass Technician enrollment using the Dameware Remote Everywhere API. These Technicians can also be created alongside corresponding permissions that can be predefined in the Admin Area by navigating to Management > Technicians > Permissions.

Additional security settings for management of Technicians

Users now have the ability to manage additional security settings within their Technicians. including the ability to "Deploy Security Settings" or "Deploy Configuration Settings." These settings can be found by navigating to the Admin Area > Management > Technicians > Permissions > Miscellaneous.

Addition of Passportal search functionality

In the Viewer, users with a large number of Passportal vaults now have the ability to search their credentials using both partial and exact word matches.

Mass management of settings on installed Agents

Users in charge of multiple Agents using Unattended access can now deploy settings to these existing Agents without reinstalling the software. This feature enables users to dial up security settings and ensure that compliance sensitive settings cannot be administratively disabled.

Users can now initiate video calls from an Applet to any Android device and view contents of the handset camera in real time.

Delegate licensing responsibilities to technicians

Users with Master accounts can now delegate licensing responsibilities to specific technicians by navigating to Management > Technicians > Permissions. This allows for administrative privileges to be allocated to groups of technicians and creates a wider group of users with licensing capabilities.

In both the Viewer and Console, users can now see a hint that displays how many entries are being loaded.

Passportal Integration for Germany and Australia

In the Console, Passportal integration has now been expanded to include Germany and Australia data centers. This enables users to seamlessly integrate their Remote Viewer with any Passportal instances hosted in these regions.

Disable Snaps and Anchors

In both the Viewer and Console, users can now choose to disable the previously automatic snap and anchor behaviors.

Integration of Passportal

In the Viewer during a remote session, technicians can now select from a list of Secrets using Passportal vaults and inject it into a remote Windows device. This allows technicians to remotely authenticate end users' machines securely without viewing their credentials.

Addition of Session Widget

Users can now access a Session Widget by clicking on the Remote Control Mode icon. This allows technicians to create or transfer sessions, view license consumption, and even disable local license consumption.

Disable local license consumption

Users now have the option to disable their local license consumption. This is beneficial for users that want to perform administrative duties, such as running reports, without consuming a license.

More system information when auditing devices

Users now receive more detailed information when auditing selected devices.

Addition of visual calendar

Users can now view a visual calendar under Applet Setup to aid in scheduling web filters.

Windows (7.00.07)

In-session video calling

In the Viewer and Agent, technicians now have a Start Video Call option once a session is established. This option allows VoIP calls with a two-way exchange of voice and video streaming through video conferencing.

Use an alternate TCP port

In the Agent, technicians can now use TCP port 3377 instead of port 443 as an alternate communication with the gateways. This allows technicians to bypass DPI filters that potentially flag DRE as suspicious.

Powershell interaction warning

In the Viewer, a Powershell warning will now advise that remote devices running Powershell v4 or lower will execute commands but not show the prompt.

Ability to blank remote screens

In the Agent, technicians now have the option to blank the remote screen based on modifying the gamma values.

macOS (6.00.07)

Ability to request administrator privileges

In the Viewer, technicians now have the option to request administrator privileges under the My Computer tab.

Description
In the Windows Viewer, users can now see a description and file path under System Info > Applications, rather than displaying 0KB.
In the macOS Applet, technicians can now use restart and reconnect commands without losing connection to sessions.

Introduction of Dameware Remote Everywhere Mobile

In the Viewer, technicians can now screenshare with end users on both Android and iOS devices by downloading the app from Google Play or the App Store.

Allow remote users to add passwords to a Vault

In the Viewer, end users can now securely add a password to a Vault without requiring the technician to view the password.

Design enhancements added to columns

Users can now sort column data by clicking on column headers, as well as re-order columns by dragging and dropping to the desired view.

Description
The checkbox in the Terms of Service prompt is now scalable with high DPI displays, rather than remaining partially hidden.

Addition of Wake-on-LAN

Technicians can choose which devices to wake up on the main table. After that, the technician can select the "Proxy Agent" that will be used to send the magic packet.

Users can now restart the agent service and devices from the Devices Pane.

Add Enable/Disable Icons

Users can more easily identify enabled/disabled scripts that displays its status more clearly.

Augmented Session History Report

Users can now add a hint to the Session Length, add database times, and clarify current local viewer times.

Better local language support at Admin Area login

Users will now have their language preferences automatically saved in the database after changing it instead of manually changing it after each login.

Allow for technician performance to be exported

Users can now export performance data for technicians in the Admin Area.

Ensure better presentation of scroll bars

Scroll bars in the Survey Report page are now responsive to changes in height and fit the entire window rather than within the container.

Update default handling of inbound support requests to “Yes”

The default highlighted option for incoming support requests is now "Accept" instead of "No".

Fixed issues

Description
The explicit script option now marks scripts as "bat" as the default, rather than containing no default and executing unsuccessfully.
Session History reports are not being exported properly using the tech filter selected. They are now being exported correctly.
Survey reports are now properly exporting all data with no blank columns.
When multiple technicians try to respond to the same request, they now receive a meaningful error message.
When forwarding from Deferred Support, the drop-down menu now contains appropriate department names or is disabled if not applicable.
The banner indicating that a technician has expired now disappears from the screen rather than remaining on the screen.
Language options now appear in their offered language, rather than the currently selected language.
When viewing missed sessions, the "from" field now displays data rather than being blank.
Users can now successfully sort a table by clicking on an element in the table heading.
